22 games into the season, nearing Christmas time and the Generals are rolling. Finally!

Its been quite a ride so early in the season, from new faces, trades and adapting to high expectations, it's been fun, and can only bring the team closer together as we strive for not only another VIJHL championship, but a better showing at the Cyclone, in front of our hometown fans, and finally a berth in the Keystone, showing everyone what type of team we really can be.

Eight wins out of our last nine games has felt awesome. As a team we are starting to peak, and we are only going to get better. Some classic battles have gone on throughout these last few games. As always tough gritty hockey with Kerry Park, exciting to watch and be a part of. Comox games have added a new flare to our season and learning quickly that penalties are costing us, playing against power plays like the Glacier Kings. Victoria has had our number so far this year, but like I said,  we're starting to peak, and we have a couple games left with the Cougars, and they will be more exciting. Trust me.

We've had some great battles like I said before, and thats allowed the boys to step up and at different times, in different games.Braeden Johnson, what do I say? WoW. What a competitor. The saves he is making to keep us in games, unreal. I honestly don't understand how he does it sometimes. Kyle Vestby, Mr Utility. Plays whatever role is asked of him, including defense, and not batting an eye. Bixby, Morgan and Yamasaki stepping to the offensive plate, and knocking it over the fence. Myles and Leo, taking a beating every night and keep coming back for more. Our shorthanded defense group working hard and getting the job done. Everyone is working extra hard, and the results are showing in the standings. with injuries healing and deadlines coming up we are looking to improve even more.

We've also faced some adversity off the ice as well, but the guys have pulled together as a family and fought hard through it, for the better cause of winning for our Coach. Everything he has done for us, and will continue to do, the least we can do is win. We're closer as a team, more like a family, and that is a great thing, as families work hard for each other, and hard work always beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard. The neat thing is, we have tons of talent also.

So come on down to Oceanside Place, catch a game, and watch us make a charge at the playoffs and gear up for a long playoff drive toward our second consecutive VIJHL Championship.

Thru 12 games so far, and we’re not quite where we want to be, but were working hard, and involved in some very exciting hockey.
We’ve made some player moves since my last blog, and I’d like to say the new guys have added to our character and definitely to our skill. They fit    in great, and I look forward to going to battle with all of them, playing classic and clutch Generals style hockey.
We’re looking to take the league by storm in the coming weeks, by playing hard nosed Generals hockey, and showing everyone else that we’re just getting into gear, and they all better be on the watch.

Hello and welcome to my very first blog entry for you the great fans of the Oceanside Generals.
It’s a great honor to be named captain of this year’s Generals, after being an assistant last season, and helping us to the league championship, and bronze at the Cyclone.  I look forward to leading the boys back to the Cyclone and hopefully onwards to the Keystone in Kamloops.
This year’s team is full of character and skill.  A great group of guys that I’m proud to play with.  From the rookies to the veterans we’re a tight group of brothers that look forward to bringing you exciting hockey all the way to April.

See you all at the rink
