I went to Kelowna on Friday and it was fun. There was a pool at our hotel and I ordered room service and the room service that I ordered was chicken wings and Caesar salad. It was yummy. When I went to sing the National Anthem, the microphone went bye bye, and my voice kept cutting in and out on the PA system. The organizers got me to climb up a big long ladder into the sound booth, and let me do it again with a working microphone. They gave me a very cool Major Midget All Star Jersey, it is way too big for me, but I am going to put it up in my room because I like it. We had to fly from Comox to Calgary to Kelowna and then from Kelowna to Calgary and back to Comox. This was the first time I have ever been in a jet. Dad said we were going over 500 mph …. And I got to watch TV while we were flying. We got home just in time to have a quick nap and then head off to sing for the Generals, where they beat the Peninsula Panthers … way to go boys. I am very proud of the Generals, they have two wins in a row and counting. This Tuesday’s game is against the Kerry Park Islanders, and I really want my boys to well you know … win. This Friday is when I sing for the Abbotsford Heat, I will let all of you know how that goes. Jessie. |

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and awesome new years, I sure did. Hard to believe we are in 2010 and the Olympics are just weeks away. The hockey gods have not been very nice to the Generals over the last few weeks, but I know our team is going to turn this thing around, with the addition of Ty and Curtis I don’t think there is much that can stop us now. I have a very busy January. In addition to the Saturday night Generals games I am going to be singing the Canadian Anthem for the Major Midget All Star game in Kelowna this weekend. West Jet is flying me into Kelowna at 2:00 PM Friday, sing at 7:00 PM then a late dinner with my cousins, back to the hotel and I fly out at 7:00 AM getting back into Parksville via Calgary at 2:30 PM. Time for a quick nap and then off to sing for my boys as they take on the Peninsula Panthers. The following weekend I am going to Abbotsford to sing the American and Canadian anthems for the Abbotsford Heat. I am looking forward to this Saturday night’s game against the Panthers, I just have a feeling that this Saturday is when the Generals are going to begin a very long winning streak, and the hockey gods will smile upon the Generals once again. Go Generals Go. Jessie. |

December 19 Christmas is my favourite time of year. I love all the lights and shopping and all that stuff. When I met Santa a couple weeks ago I asked him if he could bring all the Generals a Gold Medal in the Cyclone Taylor Cup. He said he would do his best for them, and leave behind a little magic for them in each of their stockings. That was so nice of him. The boys have been having an up and down season this year, but I think that is one of the things that builds a strong team and when I see the look on their faces when they come out of the tunnel each game night, I just know that each one of them is focused on winning. We have one more game left in December, this Tuesday against the Panthers. This should be a fun game because Myles and Leo’s other brother and third triplet Gerry Fitzgerald plays for the Panthers. I wonder what it’s like for their Mom to watch a game like this? I will ask her on Tuesday night and then report it back to all of you in a week or two. Guess what? I was asked by the Abbotsford Heat to sing the American and Canadian Anthem for them at their January 22nd game against the Huston Aeros. My dad says that the Areos are Gordie Howe’s old team. I asked him who Gordie Howe was, and he told me he was a friend of Howie Meekers and played against Howie. Howie is a friend of mine, so next time I see him I will ask him all about Gordie Howe. Oh yeah, I found out a little secret, I can’t tell you what it is but the game on Saturday January 2nd should have some very special guests at it, I can’t wait. Anyways, I guess that’s it for now, wishing you and all your family a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY, HAPPY NEW YEARS, keep your head up and I will see you at the rink. Jessie. |

Me n’ the Boys Escorted Santa to the Wembley Mall. I had a blast with the Generals escorting Santa into the Wembley Mall. All the Generals got to ride on top of the fire truck, I wanted to as well, but the firemen said I just wasn’t quite tall enough. Santa let me ride up front with him, we turned on the siren and lights …. It was loud, but a lot of fun. Santa needed some help because all his elf’s were sitting out two game suspensions for something they did after the 10 minute mark of the third period, in a game they had against the Jack Frosts so I helped Santa carry his big bag of toys into the mall, then we all went for breakfast in the mall and tried to all of Pat’s bacon and eggs. I am so proud of the Generals and how well they are playing. Moving up in the standings each game, playing great and being feisty. I like that. When I talked to Santa Clause he said all the Generals were going to get great presents this year for being so good. I got to sing the Anthem for Sam Kobe’s new team at SFU and then I sang it for the Nanaimo Clippers just last week. There were four or five Generals in the line up with the Clippers for this game. That’s cool. See you at the rink … Jessie. |

October 20, 2009 Check me out at BC Hockey October 4, 2009 Can you believe it, I have almost sung O Canada 100 times for the Generals. I love singing for them. The most fun is when the Captain of the team skates me out onto the ice. My first year the Captain was Scott Moore, and then Matt Potter and now Peter Funnell. Scotty, Matty and Funsie .. that ’ s kind of cool. I like it when we have Tim Bit games between periods because I get to see lots of my friends like Ethan come out and play hockey. Maybe one day they will play for the Generals. See you all next game, Saturday, October 10 th against the Westshore Stingers, and if you want to see me on Sunday October 11 th , I am singing O Canada for the Nanaimo Clippers at their afternoon game.
