While local players are make up the majority of our roster, we also have players sign with the Generals from other cites in Canada, the United States, and more.
To host these players, this is where we ask the families of the greater Oceanside community to generously open their homes for the duration of the VIJHL hockey season (roughly mid-August to mid-April depending on a playoff run).
Billet families offer the athlete a place to sleep, meals, and a supportive and positive environment for the player. It is a place to build deep connections with a player who in many cases is living away from home for the first time. Billeting can be a very excited and rewarding experience for all those willing to open their homes to a dedicated hockey player. Many of these families form a bond that lasts long after their players have moved on from the Generals.
In exchange for your hospitality of a player, billet families receive the following:
– $800 / a month stipend
– Two regular season tickets (valued for all home games only)
Stipend & ticket allotment is per player hosted.
